With over 20 kilometres of multipurpose trails weaving through a mosaic of 97 individual forests, each tour is tailored to the season, ensuring you experience the forests at their most spectacular.

Whilst you are here, surround yourself with some of Canberra’s best panoramic views, stunning architecture and themed, landscaped gardens. Visit and see why the National Arboretum Canberra continues to be voted Canberra’s Best Tourist Attraction.

Please note:
Most guided tours take place on uneven terrain, please contact the arboretum to discuss how we an adapt a tour for accessibility options.
Bring a hat, drinking water, sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
Recommended for ages 12 and over (with an accompanying adult).

Walking locations will vary with each tour, as they are tailored to best suit the season, ensuring that visitors will experience the forests at their most spectacular.

Please note terrain is uneven for Forest Walks. Please wear sturdy shoes and weather appropriate clothing.

Venture into the forests with a volunteer guide for a two-hour long guided walk to discover the stories behind the forests, and experience the trees and forests from a poetic perspective. Knowledgeable and passionate volunteers give tours through the ever-changing forests to give visitors an insight into the history, purpose and stories of the National Arboretum.

There are over 20 kilometres of multipurpose trails that wind through a mosaic of 94 individual forests at the National Arboretum Canberra.
