The Canberra Society of Model and Experimental Engineering, which operates the Canberra Miniature Railway, caters to a wide set of model engineering interests including steam, electric and petrol locomotives, traction engines, clocks, and boats.
The Society builds, maintains and operates a set of miniature trains of different types that carry passengers around approximate 1.5 kilometres of track at their location in Symonston, Canberra, ACT. The engines are replicas of real locomotives.
The Society hosts public running days twice a month where visitors can come and ride the trains for a small fee for unlimited rides – children under 3 years are free! Food and drink are available on site, and the running sessions are typically 4 hours in length. Party bookings with a barbeque are also available for special occasions like birthdays, and even entire site bookings are available for large exclusive gatherings.
