GoBoat Canberra Electric Boat Hire

GoBoat Canberra is an environmentally friendly, safe and fun way to explore Canberra from the water. It is the only self-drive electric boat hire company approved to operate on Lake Burley Griffin.

Boat hire includes a premium 5.35m Rand Picnic boat powered by a quiet electric Torqeedo motor, which can be steered by a tiller. The boat comes with life jackets for eight (including children), and a fixed picnic table for enjoying a snack or drink.

The responsible ‘skipper’ receives a safety briefing, maps and information either on their mobile device or physical printed paper.

A number of recommended routes are provided, giving hirers multiple options for their 1, 2, or 3 hour rental. Sights include the High Court, museums, art galleries and monuments.

The wharf location at Kingston is surrounded by some of Canberra’s best cafes and restaurants, so you can either purchase food and beverages to bring on board, or you can pre-order with your rental and GoBoat will have your picnic pack ready for your departure.
