Chowans Rest is a flat meadow, easily accessible to any vehicle and caravans, ideal for all campers looking for a safe and peaceful base to explore this fantastic region. The camping area is quite private, and around 400 meters from the main house and nearest neighbours. It is adjacent to forested areas, including Mt Chowan and Nullum State Forest, so have a lovely green outlook. Chowans Rest is very conveniently located – It is just 5-10 minutes easy cycling from the Northern Rivers Rail Trail, so an ideal spot for keen cyclists. It’s also a 40 minute drive from Byron Bay, 30 minute drive from Northern Rivers beaches and southern Gold Coast beaches, a 10-minute drive to Wollumbin (Mt Warning) National Park and the historical village of Uki. There is also a 40-minute scenic drive to the township of Nimbin, along with several beautiful hiking trails nearby.
