Macquarie River Bicentennial Park

Parks and Gardens

Adjacent to the Macquarie/Wambuul River at the lower end of William Street. The Macquarie River Bicentennial Park was established as a part of Bathurst’s 1988 Bicentennial Celebrations and has since been a favourite amongst locals, with plenty of opportunities for morning walks, picnics and play.

The park includes several historical and heritage monuments, including the Remembrance Walls, the Pillars of Bathurst, the Proclamation Flagstaff and the Ohkuma Japanese gardens. There are also several picnic areas and a children’s playground.

Stop in at the Bathurst Visitor Information Centre to pick up a copy of the self-guided walking tour along the Macquarie River Park Path.
