Tocumwal Railway Heritage Museum

Galleries, Museums and Collections

The Tocumwal Railway Heritage Museum is located in Tocumwal’s historic railway station, showcasing the vast history of two-state railway development of this break-of-gauge town.

Spanning three areas of the station, the former parcels office focuses on all things rail history, from the construction of the Tocumwal Bridge in 1895 through to current-day freight activities. In the former ticket office and stationmaster’s office, the history of railway staff is recorded, and on display is a detailed plan of the rail yards in their heyday. Kids will also have a blast playing with a Thomas and Friends train set. And in the former railway worker’s quarters, Tocumwal’s general history is on display.

Around the building, find information detailing how each of the various areas and rooms were used throughout the station’s 75-year history, as well as a Victorian Railways Gangers Trolley.

A project of the Lions Club of Tocumwal and District.
