Chainsaw Tree Sculpture

Parks and Gardens

Located in the heart of West Wyalong’s McCann Park, the striking Tree Sculpture is a standout feature of the Bland Shire’s growing Art Trail. This trail also includes other iconic attractions such as the Big Football in Ungarie, the Weethalle Silo mural, the Russell Drysdale Monument, and the Reg Rattey VC statue.
Crafted by Melbourne’s Brandon Kroon—currently ranked the World Number One Chainsaw Carver—this remarkable artwork was carved from a Redgum tree stump using only a chainsaw. The sculpture beautifully captures two native birds: the majestic Wedge-Tailed Eagle and the elusive Mallee Fowl.
Completed in just one week, the sculpture is a must-see for visitors to McCann Park, perfectly situated at the junction of the Mid Western and Newell Highways. Surrounded by picturesque gardens, it offers a unique blend of nature, art, and local heritage.
Brandon Kroon has been passionate about creating and working with his hands from a young age. Since turning professional in 2013, he has built an impressive portfolio of chainsaw carvings that continue to inspire and amaze.
