Hillside Harvest Orchard Tours, Workshops and Experiences

Customised

Established for over 75years, Hillside Harvest is a fourth-generation family run orchard in Borenore.

Renowned for growing cherries, stonefruit, apples, pears, figs, and berries, visitors are welcome to experience the fun of “Pick Your Own” when in season.

Enjoy the orchard all year long with tastings, a tour, a workshop or leisurely stroll. Autumn is full of colour with big, blue skies and leaves of yellow and orange. In Winter, the trees are bare, the air is crisp, and it may even snow. Spring sees the orchard come to life with beautiful blossoms.

Join a guided farm tour, and as you walk through the orchard, learn how fruit is grown and its journey from tree to table.

The harvest table small group workshops use seasonal fruit, direct from the orchard. They are hands-on, with individual guidance and useful tips and tricks shared throughout the session.

Tailor-made experiences, accommodating groups of any size from 2 – 100 people for fruit tastings, breakfast, morning or afternoon tea and light lunches can be added to your tour or workshop.

Browse the farm store for handpicked, sun-ripened orchard fruit, local cheeses, smallgoods and an exciting range of regional produce and gift wares.

Enjoy a cuppa, light refreshments or homemade cakes from the café, a picnic in the orchard or a local grazing box by the dam.

Step behind the scenes with this Walk and Talk, a relaxed 45-minute guided stroll through the working orchard at Hillside Harvest. Led by Allan or Paula, whose family have been orcharding in the district for over 100 years, this immersive walk invites you to wander the rows, ask questions, uncover the orchard’s story and the history of fruit growing in the Orange region.

Along the way, learn how apples, cherries and stone fruit are nurtured through the seasons, and how fruit makes its journey from tree to table. Discover why Orange’s unique soils and cool-climate make it one of Australia’s most exciting fresh-produce regions.

After the walk, guests are welcome to stay and explore — pick your own fruit if in season (orchard entry included), relax among the trees, or visit the farm shop and café showcasing local produce.
