Cowper Art Gallery

Galleries, Museums and Collections

Cowper Art Gallery and Studio is located in the picturesque village of Cowper nestled by the banks of the Clarence River half way between Grafton and Maclean. The Gallery is situated in the beautifully restored old timber churches. The Gallery features changing exhibitions.

Each exhibition is opened with an event and artist talks are often held during exhibitions. Gallery patrons enjoy the unique experience of listening to artists discuss their work and creative practice.

Workshops are held in the Studio throughout the year. and they are taught by Gallery owner Kerrie Bowles and visiting tutors. Fay Boyd’s Fine Art School is also owned and operated by Cowper Art Gallery and Studio.

The Studio offers workshops in printmaking, painting, textiles, dyeing, basket making, weaving, bookmaking and photography. New workshops are added to the program regularly.

Workshop days offer a chance to learn new skills whilst enjoying a day out in the beautiful surroundings of the Gallery. Nourishing food and country cooking are all a part of the workshop day. With the river close by and the lovely country setting, participants leave feeling relaxed and nurtured.
