Melville Point Lookout

Natural Attractions

Melville Point, also known as “Burying Point” and “Gravehead” due to the early settler cemetery there, has beautiful sweeping views over Barlings Beach to the north-east, and Mossy Point and Broulee Island to the south. Tomakin Cove is tucked in against the southern side of the headland.

The lookout offers a great vantage point for land-based whale watching in season.

The point and its adjoining intertidal rock platform are on the Register of the National Estate as an important geological site to the north
