St Fiacres Roman Catholic Church

Landmarks and Buildings

Opened in 1959, St Fiacres Roman Catholic Church in Urana was built just to the south of the current church, St Mary’s. St Mary’s celebrated its first mass on 7 January 1883 with the bell tower being built in 1885.

Many local families have had several generations associated with St Fiacres, with almost all family members having being baptised at St Fiacres. The church is still in use today. The brick facade highlights the modern construction of this church in comparison to other old churches in the area.
