Carrington Park

Parks and Gardens

Carrington Park is located opposite St Mary’s Catholic Church and the Young Historical Museum (on the crossroad) and adjacent to the Hilltops Council Library. The park has undercover barbecue facilities, picnic tables and toilet facilities, as well as play equipment for the kids to enjoy. Accessible parking is available at Caple Street Carpark.

The park was established on a former police paddock in 1888 and named after the State Governor Lord Carrington, who was in town to switch on the first electric power system.

Carrington Park is featured in the Young town walk brochure available at theYoung Visitor Information Centre.
