This cycle journey combines the timeless majesty of the Tweed Valley and Tweed Coast with Wollumbin and sections of the new and much acclaimed Northern Rivers Rail Trail.
Beginning with a full circuit around Wollumbin, cycle along rural roads with sweeping landscapes and the dramatic backdrop of ranges that border the valley, then forest trails through the rainforest of National Parks, to follow rivers and creeks as you loop back to Murwillumbah.
The second part of this cycle journey heads out along the Northern Rivers Rail Trail before turning to the Tweed Coast and the sparkling coastline for which this region is renowned where you’ll spend the night in premium accommodation by the beach.
The last stage takes you into Murwillumbah through the red soil farmlands of the Cudgen Plateau and the floodplains of the Tweed River which still supports cane farming operations.
This is a cycle journey with breadth and depth from rainforest to superb beaches, dramatic landscapes carved in ancient times as well as a contemporary and colourful community that seems to thrive surrounded by natures best.
You’ll be supported with e-bike rental and luggage transfers between towns, giving you the freedom to cycle at your own pace.

This short cycle journey heads out along the Northern Rivers Rail Trail between Murwillumbah and Crabbes Creek, before turning east to the Tweed Coast and the sparkling beaches and coastline for which this region is renowned where you’ll spend the night in premium accommodation by the beach. The last stage takes you back into Murwillumbah through the red soil farmlands of the Cudgen Plateau and the floodplains of the Tweed River which still supports significant cane farming operations.
We’ll provide you with electric bikes and will transfer your luggage between hotels. This gives you the freedom to cycle at your own pace and enjoy the ever-changing landscape.

Family FriendlyThis trip has been created to allow families to experience the timeless majesty of the Tweed Coast and to cycle the Murwillumbah to Crabbes Creek section of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail. Most of the cycling on this trip is on either the rail trail or dedicated cycle paths, with only a short linking section on the road.
The cycle distances aren’t too far so the younger members of your family can easily achieve the distance each day. The provided electric bikes will provide an extra boost when needed. We do also have tag-a-long options and bike trailers for those under 7.
We’ll book you in comfortable family rooms, provide bike hire and will transfer your luggage between hotels. This gives you the freedom to cycle at your own pace and enjoy the ever-changing landscape.

Family FriendlyThis short cycle journey is based in Murwillumbah and takes you along the Northern Rivers Rail Trail between Murwillumbah and Crabbes Creek. Keen cyclists can cycle both directions of the Rail Trail, giving you a change to enjoy the view of Wollumbin (Mt Warning) as you cycle back to Murwillumbah. Or we can arrange a transfer to meet you at Mooball and return you to your accommodation in Murwillumbah.
We’ll provide you with electric bikes and route information, and will book you two nights of accommodation in Murwillumbah. This gives you the freedom to cycle at your own pace and enjoy the best the Northern Rivers Rail Trail has to offer.

Family FriendlyThis tour gives you the opportunity to explore the best of the Tweed Valley by Bike. Starting in Murwillumbah you’ll cycle the first section of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail, stopping on the way to sample the local food and enjoy the views of Wollumbin (Mt Warning). The whole Tweed Valley was formed by an extinct volcano leaving behind a caldera. Right in the very centre of this timeless landscape sits Wollumbin (Mt Warning), the vent of this ancient volcano.
You will then spend two days cycling a full circuit around Wollumbin, cycling along rural roads with sweeping landscapes. You’ll spend a night in Tyalgum, a contemporary and colourful community that seems to thrive surrounded by nature’s best. During this journey you will be supported with e-bike rental and luggage transfers between towns, giving you the freedom to cycle at a relaxed pace and take in the ever-changing landscape.
