The Nimbin Performance Poetry World Cup has run for 22 years on the first weekend of September.
Saturday has four heats featuring 32 poets from Tasmania to the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, each performing eight minutes of poetry, judged on the poem, performance and audience reaction.
Sunday has two semi-finals of eight poets each, to decide which eight poets advance to the Final Sunday night to compete for the AUD2000 first prize and the coveted Cup.
All money is raised by the Nimbin Community and the event is run by volunteers.
