Artist Residencies Capertee Valley

Classes, Lessons, Workshops and Talks

4 Sep 2026 to 25 Oct 2026 Biannual Event

These immersive three or seven-day residencies offer intermediate to advanced painters the opportunity to reset, refine, and reconnect with their practice in a focused and inspiring environment. Guided by landscape artist Corinne Loxton, each residency blends independent studio and plein air time with personalised mentoring to help you strengthen technique, deepen creative direction, and develop a cohesive body of work.

Artists work at their own pace — in the studio, around the property, or venturing into the surrounding mountains and national parks. Each day includes a 1-hour small-group mentoring session, providing practical tuition and critique on composition, colour, brushwork and problem-solving. You’ll also receive 1-2 private tutorials with Corinne, along with peer feedback circles designed to build confidence, clarity, and artistic insight.

Accommodation is available onsite, with options including farmhouse rooms, restored vintage caravans, or camping under the stars. Shared studios, cosy communal spaces and expansive outdoor settings create an atmosphere that supports both creativity and rest. Evenings often unfold around the fire, with relaxed conversation and shared meals.

Ideal for artists seeking a creative boost, constructive feedback, and energising time in nature, this residency offers a rare chance to immerse deeply in your work while being supported by an experienced mentor and a like-minded artistic community.
