Great Southern Nights – Regional NSW
Events Dubbo, Western Plains Regional, New South Wales
1 May 2026 to 17 May 2026 Annual Event
Great Southern Nights is making its epic return, bringing the heart of Australian music to the regions. Over 300 live gigs will light up hundreds of venues across New South Wales – stretching from the sun-drenched coastlines of Byron Bay, Brunswick Heads and the South Coast to the big skies of Dubbo, Tamworth, Wagga Wagga and Orange.
The celebration goes deeper into regional NSW than ever before. Experience the power of rapid-fire rhymes with JK-47 in Boggabilla, iconic pop hits from Regurgitator in Bathurst and much-adored anthems from Pete Murray in Orange. In the Hunter, Newcastle vibrates with everything from the soul vibes of BOY SODA to the indie energy of Jack River, while Wollongong and Port Kembla showcase a distinctive mix of industrial soul and coastal rock.
A brand-new highlight for 2026 is Live Fest, a series of curated one-day music experiences. Dubbo’s Lazy River Estate opens the program with a legendary line-up including Paul Kelly, Missy Higgins and The Cat Empire, while Tamworth’s TRECC hosts a powerhouse evening with Jet, Lime Cordiale and Thelma Plum. Whether you’re “gig-tripping” to discover emerging local talent in a heritage pub or heading to a major regional hub for a stadium-scale show, Great Southern Nights is the ultimate invitation to explore the sights, sounds and hospitality of regional NSW.
