Humble Bakery

This nostalgia-sparking cafe is run by the team behind acclaimed restaurants Porteno and Mister Grotto – and Humble Bakery’s signature finger bun might send you on a sweet time-trip back to your childhood. This treat has been reimagined over the years at this Surry Hills shop (and its other city locations). There’s been an Iced VoVo version, the finger bun has also received a rainbow glow-up for Mardi Gras and even been interpreted as a keyring (butter slab included). But the best take might be the original: pink cream-cheese swirls atop a milk-dough bun, filled with a triple hit of fruit (currants, raisins and cranberries) and wedged with a generous serve of Coppertree Farms butter.
