Homeleigh Grove

Produce

Homeleigh Grove Olives are located on the ACT/NSW border a few kilometres north of Canberra and within sight of Canberra’s landmark Black Mountain Tower. Planting of the olive trees commenced in 1999 and each year the grove has continued to grow.

They are a small grove of about 2000 trees and produce a wide range of olive products. Progressively building a sustainable grove with minimum irrigation and use of organically recognised fertilizers and pesticides.

Most trees are for oil production, but about 150 trees were specifically planted for table fruit. These include manzanilla, azapa, seveillano, koroneiki, benito, verdale, and more recently bouroni, Hardy’s mammoth, volos and kalamata.

Even with such a young grove, the annual harvest has already reached up to 30 tonnes, of which over a tonne is hand picked for table olives. The grove has produced some great oils and table olives of medal winning quality.

All of their oils entered in the 2016 Australian National and Sydney Royal Olive Oil Competitions achieving medals, giving them three gold and six silver medals.

Homeleigh Grove produces two labels – Homeleigh Grove and Lowanna’s Paddock.
