Bolong, an Aboriginal word meaning ‘bullock’, is a dairy farming community on the north side of the Shoalhaven River. It sits between the towns of Bomaderry and Shoalhaven Heads.

Two of the Shoalhaven’s biggest industries are situated here: Manildra, a food starch factory which produces the bi product ethanol; the other is the Australian Paper Mill.

There is no township at Bolong. The nearest is situated in Bomaderry.
