Samson Creek

Caravan, Camping and Holiday Parks

Samson Creek Nature Park offers secluded bush camping for self contained campers and caravanners.

Activities include bird watching, barramundi fishing, bush walking, star gazing, relaxing in nature and exploring the area for historical artefacts and various geology.

With only a few camp sites, bookings are essential to secure your preferred bush camp site. There is one shared toilet and shower facility, with disabled access.

The property welcomes small tour operators to include Samson Creek within their itinerary and event coordinators to make contact for special events.

The property is only a one hour drive from Darwin, centrally located near the junction of Litchfield National Park, Dundee Beach and Wagait Beach and provides a wilderness experience with year-round water; the Charlotte River. The entrance is on Fog Bay Road, access to the camping area requires a medium clearance vehicle, to pass through the rocky bottomed crossing.

Treetops is the most private campsite, nestled amongst the treetops this site offers calming views, a birdwatchers preference.

Previous campers have been visited by two northern brown bandicoots while cooking a camp oven in the fire pit/bbq. Whilst it is the closest, it is a steep walk to the amenities. Treetops is named due to being nestled above the river, being able to look at the top of the trees.

There is a bbq / fire pit and seating.

Nearby there is a picnic table to share and a large fire pit to sit around and watch the bush TV.

This is a drive through site, perfect for vans or camper trailers.

A shady, private, flat and grassy site, which offers a BBQ and large log to use as a bench.

Perfect for the budding geologist to explore rock formations nearby.

Named “CS Geo” short for Camp Site Geology, with interesting rocks between the campsite and river.

Our favourite, Jackson is a large shady site with wood fired barbeque, a picnic table and bench.

This is the closest campsite to the river crossing and offers pull through access.
