Leliyn (Edith Falls)
Things To Do Katherine, Katherine, Northern Territory
Leliyn (Edith Falls) is known for its picturesque waterfalls and excellent swimming, with refreshing water available year-round. It’s located on the western side of Nitmiluk National Park, approximately 60 km north of Katherine along the Stuart Highway.
The grassy, scenic campground is a peaceful bush setting, ideal for relaxing after a swim or hike. A well-equipped kiosk offers meals and refreshments, popular with both walkers finishing the 62 km Jatbula Trail and day visitors.
Swim in the paperbark and pandanus-fringed natural pool at the base of the falls, open most of the year. Swimming may be restricted between November and April, depending on seasonal conditions.
Leliyn is also a great spot for bushwalking. The 2.6 km Leliyn Trail is a challenging loop walk with steep, rocky sections and a chance for a swim in the upper pool halfway through. For a longer option, the 9 km return walk to Sweetwater Pool leads to a peaceful swimming hole.
Leliyn is the end point of the Jatbula Trail, which starts at the Gorge end of Nitmiluk National Park.
