Wangi Falls

National Parks and Reserves

Wangi Falls is the best-known and one of the most popular attractions in Litchfield National Park, a park celebrated for its easy access and stunning natural beauty. Located near the park’s western boundary, Wangi is easily reached via sealed roads from Darwin.

Relax in the spacious picnic area and watch water from the twin falls cascade into the large plunge pool below, surrounded by lush monsoon rainforest. When conditions are safe, enjoy a refreshing swim. The site is well equipped with a kiosk, picnic tables, barbecues, and a nearby campground with hot showers. All campsites must be booked online before arrival.

Explore the area on one of several walking tracks. The 3 km loop walk takes you up and over the falls and back to the carpark, with the option to visit the treetop viewing platform. Wangi also provides access to the extended 39 km Tabletop Track for experienced hikers. Bookings are essential for this multi-day walk and visitors must be well prepared.

Swimming is not permitted during the wet season, typically from October to March, due to strong currents and the potential presence of saltwater crocodiles. During this time, the powerful falls offer spectacular views and photography opportunities. Camping and picnic facilities remain open all year.

Purchase an NT Parks Pass before you arrive. NT residents are exempt.
