Kings Creek Walk

National Parks and Reserves

The Kings Creek Walk offers a gentle trail along the base of Kings Canyon, nestled between towering sandstone walls. This 2 km return walk begins at the car park and leads to a raised viewing platform with stunning views of the canyon’s sheer cliffs.

Following the same path, walkers return to the car park, making it an easy and accessible option for families and those seeking a shorter, less strenuous experience. The trail is graded as Level 2 (easy) and typically takes around one hour to complete. Sturdy footwear is recommended due to uneven surfaces.

Kings Creek Walk is located in Watarrka National Park, approximately 450 km south-west of Alice Springs. If you’re a visitor to the Northern Territory (NT), you need a parks visitor pass to visit Watarrka National Park.
