Sporting Events

23 Jul 2026 to 28 Jul 2026 Annual Event

Now in its 15th year and one of the most unique Australian running events on the running calendar. Ayers Rock Resort once again plays host to the Australian Outback Marathon on the last Saturday in July. With entrants participating from all over the world and set amongst one of the most iconic backdrops in the world. Entrants from every continent will once again pound the red dust with spectacular views of Uluru and Kata Tjuta.

Race organiser and sports tour operator, Travelling Fit, have designed the event to be enjoyed by all levels of running abilities offering four different events -a full marathon, half marathon and two fun runs. Most of the course is run on unsealed roads, trails and bush tracks with some soft-sand and a few dunes thrown in for good measure (the views are spectacular!)

This event is unique and is not just about finishing the chosen distance, it is about being amongst one of the most iconic Australian landscapes and enjoying the natural beauty of the area. Don’t miss out on your chance to compete in this amazing Australian race. Contact us today and we will help you get there.
