K’gari (Fraser Island) camping, Great Sandy National Park

Long beaches, dramatic coloured-sand cliffs, natural sandblows, rocky headlands and pristine freshwater lakes and streams are some of the spectacular natural features of K’gari.
There are 35 camping areas on K’gari in Great Sandy National Park. All camping areas have capacity limits and may become booked out, especially during peak holiday periods. To avoid disappointment, book early—bookings are available up to 12 months in advance.
Camping permits are required, and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite. Book your campsite and purchase your camping permit in advance.
Vehicle access permits must be purchased for every vehicle before arriving on K’gari.
Both camping permits and vehicle access permits can be purchased online, over the counter or by phone.
