Where To Stay Carnarvon Park, Murweh, Queensland
Carnarvon Gorge offers camping in the Carnarvon Gorge visitor area during the Easter, winter and spring Queensland school holidays only. Book early for seasonal camping in the visitor area to avoid disappointment. Big Bend camping area, reached by a 19.4 kilometre return walk, is open all year.
Remote camping in other sections of the park is also available. Mount Moffatt has four camping areas, each with a limited number of campsites. Ka ka Mundi and Salvator Rosa sections of the park both have one camping area each.
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite. Book your campsite and purchase your camping permit in advance. Bookings can be made on-line, over the counter or by phone.

Fees for camping permits in our national parks and other protected areas, forest reserves, state forests and recreation areas are:
$7.50 per person per night, or $30.00 per family per night
$4.10 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved educational excursions.
