Roko Island offers eco style glamping accommodation on a family owned and operated private island.
Perfectly positioned between Cape York and Torres Strait, connecting you to the best of both worlds. Just a 30-minute boat ride from the northernmost point of Australia, and 20 minutes from Seisia wharf.
Roko Island offers the only exclusive glamping in the Torres Strait and the only comfort 53-foot motor cruiser, offering 2 to 3 island cruises.
From the jetty to the facilities, are mostly crafted from sustainable, and recycled materials that blend well with the island’s ecological and sustainable environment.
There are 8 glamp tents with ocean views, accommodating 2 to 4 guests each. Ensuite is also available.
Guests wake up to ocean views, sip cocktails by the pool, enjoy cold beers on tap, stroll the beach, and savour gourmet meals prepared by the in-house chef, including a 3-course dinner.
Activities include fishing trips and charters, catch and cook experiences, scenic boat trips, and cruises. Through external operators, guests can enjoy helicopter rides, mainland waterfall day trip, and cultural/historical tours to Thursday and Horn Islands.
Access to Roko Island is via pickup from Seisia Wharf or Roonga Point, or Smartlynx flight from Cairns to Bamaga, then transfer to Seisia Wharf and Roko Island.
The island is open from April to December, closed during the wet season.
