This unique outback rail experience departs Cairns weekly, winding its way through the wet tropics area of the Kuranda range and out through the Savannah country to Forsayth and back on one of their 4 day tours. Highly personalised, you will enjoy the tour alongside our drivers in the 1960’s classic “silver-bullet” railmotors.
With options for short tours including visits to Chillagoe Cavees, Cobbold Gorge, Undara Lava Tubes and Talaroo Hot Springs, this is a must-do tour. A relaxed pace, great company and travelling in style through country you will never forget.

This package is the best of the best!
A four day, three night tour which includes side-tours at each of our overnight stops. This package includes your rail fare, on-tour transfers, accommodation and dinner/breakfast at your overnight accommodation.
Friday morning you will be transferred from Forsayth to Wirra Wirra (approx 15min) to join the Savannahlander.
**The railway line between Kuranda and Mareeba remains closed while bridge repair works are carried out. Until the repairs are completed the Savannahlander will continue to operate from the Mareeba Railway Station. Passengers travelling to Cairns will be transferred by chartered coach from Mreeba to Cairns.

Travel on the Savannahlander from Cairns* to Einasleigh and Forsayth to Cairns (coach transfer for the Forsayth to Wirra Wirra section on Friday morning due to track closures).
