Humpback Whale Watching (July – October)
The experience of a lifetime aboard Whalesong is available to a fortunate few. Purpose-built vessel with wide decks and low passenger numbers (surveyed for 100 but only take maximum 75) provides many vantage points and space for ultimate humpback whale encounters. Offering daily half-day cruises with real-time expert commentary and the most inclusions of any half day cruise (including lunch and dinner/sunset)
K’gari (Fraser Island) West Coast Beach and BBQ Cruise (November – April)
The perfect half-day trip from Hervey Bay for all the family, friends, couples and solo travellers. Enjoy safe swimming, kayaking, fishing, playing and relaxing in the safe, clear turquoise waters and pristine white sands of a remote West Coast K’gari (formerly known as Fraser Island) beach (maximum 50 passengers). Something to do for everyone. Includes morning tea and BBQ lunch.

The ultimate bucket list experience is only available to a lucky few. Whalesong Cruises, a locally veteran owned family operated business, specialises in Humpback Whale and Dolphin close encounters from their luxurious, purpose-built, wheelchair-accessible vessel. Wide decks and low passenger numbers provide everyone with a ‘front row seat’ to interact with the curious and playful whales, sometimes breaching and frolicking within metres of the boat or to simply sit back and enjoy the cruise. Three levels of spacious enclosed, open-air or water level vantage points
The perfect afternoon light for capturing those once-in-a-lifetime moments on film. You also get to enjoy the sunset over the Bay and the iconic Urangan Pier as the last boat to arrive back for the day.
Expert commentary and interpretation throughout the cruise, afternoon tea and dinner. The only boat on the entire fleet to serve dinner.
Complimentary tea, herbal tea, coffee, milo and filtered drinking water are available all day. Courtesy pick up from Hervey Bay accommodations. Fully licensed bar. Free WiFi on board.

Sunset/night time cruises take you into the spectacular pristine waterways between Fraser Island and the mainland to look out for our resident dolphins and turtles as well as enjoy the vibrant Sunset over Hervey Bay. Our selection of hot and cold canapés is served to you on deck, so you don’t miss any of the views. We show you the sparkle of the city lights along the 13 kilometres of the Beachfront that is The Charlton Esplanade. We cruise past Hervey Bay’s monumental Urangan Pier and admire the brilliant glow of the lights that make up the Harbour precinct.

Venture to the sandy shores of iconic K’gari, Fraser Island on this five hour cruise that includes a delicious Aussie barbecue lunch, beach activities and much more.
Heading out from Hervey Bay Marina at 9am and returning at 2pm, you’ll get a fantastic experience both on and off the boat. Enjoy morning tea as you keep your eyes open for wildlife both in and out of the water – dolphins, turtles, fish and marine birds can all be seen from the vessel on the way from the mainland to the island…bring your camera.
Their smaller tender boat will transfer you to K’gari where you’ll have two hours to enjoy a remote western beach of the world’s largest sand island, with opportunities for both exploration and adventure or simple relaxation available – go for a swim, traipse along the sand, go kayaking, have a bit of a snorkel, take an adrenaline filled inflatable tube ride or simply take it easy and soak in the Queensland sunshine.
Once back on board the boat kick back and enjoy a freshly-prepared Aussie style barbecue lunch including delicious Hervey Bay prawns, juicy steak and sausages, salads and fresh bread.
