Currumbin Beach

Natural Attractions

Currumbin Beach is a stunning stretch of coastline nestled between two rocky headlands, offering golden sands, rolling waves, and postcard-perfect views. It’s a favourite spot for those chasing a relaxed, natural vibe on the southern end of the Gold Coast.

The east-facing beach tends to serve up bigger, more unpredictable waves, making it popular with experienced surfers looking for a bit of a challenge. Every year in September, this beach transforms into an open-air gallery for SWELL Sculpture Festival, with large-scale artworks dotted along the sand.

The Currumbin VIkings Surf Life Saving Club is perched at the southern end of the beach, and boasts one of the best vantage points of the Surfers Paradise skyline from the deck. Ascend the stairs that lead up to the surf club and keep going to climb Elephant Rock. The small viewing platform at the top offers panoramic views of the coastline, perfect for a sunrise or sunset moment. It’s also a great place to spot humpback whales out to sea from June – October.
