Miami Beach

Natural Attractions

Miami Beach is a beautiful, straight stretch of sand tucked between Nobby Beach to the north and a rocky headland to the south, often called Miami Hill or North Burleigh Headland. At the southern end of Miami Beach, you can climb the iconic rainbow staircase up to Mick Schamburg Park and be rewarded with sweeping views of the coastline, all the way to Surfers Paradise and beyond. At low tide, you can walk around the headland to North Burleigh.

The beach is patrolled for safe swimming, and while the headland offers some shelter from southerly breezes, swimmers are advised to stay within the flags due to occasional rips. Surfers will find decent breaks on the outer bar, especially when the offshore winds are working in their favour.

The Gold Coast Oceanway runs parallel to the beach making Miami the perfect place for a coastal walk or bike ride. The beachfront park is lined with towering pine trees, with numerous viewing platforms to survey the surf and useful amenities, including toilets, beach showers, barbecues, picnic tables, playgrounds, and even beach volleyball nets.
