Shelving Beach Dive Site

Natural Attractions

The Keppel Islands located just off Yeppoon are a great place for divers to explore, but this area also has some wonderful snorkelling sites.

Located at the southwest corner of Great Keppel Island, Shelving Beach can be a little difficult to reach without a boat, but many visitors walk the bush track to explore this secluded spot. Snorkelling off either end of the beach gives access to a rocky reef covered in hard corals. You don’t have to go any deeper than four metres to see a great range of small colourful reef fish and some pretty corals. But Shelving Beach is also a good place to see stingrays and turtles.
