Cobb & Co Centenary Mural

Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

Unveiled on 14 August 2025, this mural marks the centenary of the final official Cobb & Co mail run. It portrays Fred Thompson steering Coach No. 141 and an eight-horse team as they departed Surat for Yuleba in 1924.

Created by local artist Ian Stewart-Koster, the mural stands proudly on the corner of Margaret and Clifford Streets in Toowoomba City. Funded by community supporters, it pays tribute to the region’s proud transport heritage.
