Multicultural Dragon Boat Festival

St George will come alive with colour, culture and competition as Dragon Boat and Outrigger Canoe teams from across Queensland and Northern NSW descend on the Balonne River for a vibrant weekend celebration. This family-friendly festival invites visitors and locals alike to experience the excitement of new sports while embracing the rich diversity of cultures within our community. Alongside the thrilling on-water races, the multicultural festival offers mouth-watering food vans featuring Asian and sub-continent cuisines, interactive dumpling cooking classes, hands-on arts and craft activities inspired by international traditions, and lively music and dance performances from our local Polynesian residents. Visitors can also explore exhibits of traditional national dress and enjoy a colourful display of national flags recognising the many cultures that proudly call St George home.
