From Records to Remembrance: Identifying Unmarked Soldiers’ Graves

Classes, Lessons, Workshops and Talks

10 Apr 2026 Once Only Event

Every unmarked grave of a serviceperson represents a life lived, a service given and a story waiting to be told.

Join in and discover the untold stories of Australian service personnel who lie in unmarked graves. How are these stories uncovered, and how are names restored decades later?

Drawing on archival research and material, Cate Walker and Katrina Trevethan of the Australian Remembrance Army will reveal how archival records are used to restore the names of those who died without means, family or entitlement to an official war grave.

Learn about the investigative process, challenges and successes involved in identifying forgotten resting places and ensuring that no service is left unrecognised.

This is a joint event with Australian Remembrance Army.
