The Cairns to Karumba Bike Ride is a 7 day adventure cycling event that combines endurance riding, community engagement, and regional tourism. Participants travel through a diverse range of landscapes, from the tropical surroundings of Cairns to the elevated Tablelands and across the Gulf Savannah, finishing at the coastal town of Karumba.
The event caters to a variety of riders with varying riding capabilities. Adults seeking an active holiday, groups of friends, semi-professional cyclists challenging their endurance, and families participating in a supported adventure. Along the route, participants interact with local communities, including P&C and other community groups who provide meals, run bars, and host mini events, creating a unique blend of sport, culture, and social connection.
It is both a challenging endurance ride and a tourism experience, profiling regional Queensland, fostering local economic impact, and encouraging participants to explore and appreciate the towns, landscapes, and communities along the route.
