Letting Colours Speak: A Solo Art Exhibition by Cathy Rodwell

This May, local artist and art therapist Cathy Rodwell presents Letting Colours Speak, a vibrant solo exhibition exploring emotional expression, connection, and wellbeing through intuitive painting and colour.

This project was made possible by the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund, provided through Regional Arts Australia, administered in Queensland by Flying Arts Alliance.

The exhibition features expressive paintings inspired by nature, emotion, memory, and moments of quiet reflection. Audiences can expect luminous colour, atmospheric scenes, wildlife, dreamlike landscapes, and emotionally resonant works that invite viewers to slow down and reconnect.

Alongside the exhibition, Cathy will deliver a series of small-group creative wellbeing workshops designed to encourage relaxation, mindfulness, and self-expression through painting – no prior art experience required.

Cathy Rodwell’s practice combines her background in counselling, education, and art therapy with a belief in creativity as a tool for emotional connection and wellbeing.
