Colour Me Quirky – Art Exhibition
Old Schoolhouse gallery will be alive with colour and a touch of whimsy this June with an Exhibition to brighten those dreary winter blues.

Featuring member, local Russell Island glass artisan Kaylene Higgs and invited guest artists, Catherine Marsh from Macleay Island and Julia Jones from Redland Bay.

Kaylene draws inspiration from her years working on dive and sailing boats on the reef. She loves how the translucent nature of glass reminds her of the colours of the ocean and reef.

Catherine enjoys watercolours, fabric painting, screen printing and silk painting; however, the majority of her work is in acrylic. Inspired by many years in the tropics her themes tend towards ocean themes and the bright colourful foliage. In recent years the Redlands has been her inspiration.

Julias’ work is inspired by the beauty of nature — Australian birds, lush botanicals and tranquil seaside scenes.

All welcome to meet the artists on the first Saturday June.
