Redlands Coast Museum: Blacksmithing Beginners – Twisted Bottle Opener Workshop

Step back in time and experience the craft of blacksmithing in the Museum’s historic Blacksmith Shed. In the tradition of why the Blacksmith Shed was set up over fifty years ago, the Redlands Coast Museum blacksmith team are offering this unique experience to learn about this heritage trade.

Facilitated by Mark Wyrebiak, create a twisted bottle opener while learning different techniques.

Designed for beginners aged 18+, these small-group workshops (limited to 5 participants) allow for plenty of one-on-one guidance as you learn to work safely with the forge, anvil and traditional tools.

Duration: 4 hours

Suitable for: Ages 18+ (Perfect for beginners no prior experience required)

Workshop Capacity: All our Heritage Artisan Faire Workshops have a limited number of participants to ensure you receive all the assistance and direction you require.

What to Bring / Wear
Fire-retardant clothing (cotton or wool – long sleeves and long pants)

Closed-in sturdy shoes (steel caps recommended if you have them)
