Romance and Fate – Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra

Internationally acclaimed conductor Daniel Kossov will lead the opening concert featuring Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony.

Said to be his depiction of fate it captures the long march to battle (with skittish cavalry), dreams of love and memories of peaceful times, and finally the great battle itself.

The finale evokes a victory parade with its jarring mix of loss and pride, bombast and fatalism. Music speaks when words fail. The performance will also feature the beloved Variations on a Rococo theme with talented cellist Julia Janiszewski as the soloist.
