Lock Up Your Troughs – Evening with Murphy’s Pigs – Toowoomba

Murphy’s Pigs, Australia’s larger-than-life Celtic-rock big band, are set to mark two decades of roaring music, raucous humour, and audience mayhem with their Lock Up Your Troughs – 20th Anniversary Concert.

From humble beginnings as a four-piece at the Festival Interceltique de Lorient in 2006, they’ve grown into a multi-award-winning twelve-piece ensemble that’s stormed the Celtic music scene with wit, grit, and unstoppable energy.

In twenty years, Murphy’s Pigs have released seven albums and a live DVD, toured tens of thousands of kilometres across Australia and abroad, and scored international airplay. Along the way, they’ve racked up honours including multiple Australian Celtic Music Awards, the 2024 Australian Folk Music Awards People’s Choice, the Celtic Council of Australia’s Daoine Uaisle Award, and the Golden Fiddle Award for Best Band.

Their concerts are full-throttle Celtic immersion: roaring tales of battle, love, and celebration; massed vocals that spark joyous singalongs; and pulsing jigs, reels, and hornpipes that drag even the shyest dancer to their feet. Joining them are The Piglets—award-winning Highland and Irish dancers whose dazzling flings and jigs set the stage alight.
