Affectionately known as Coochie, this small sub-tropical island is just a short 10-minute ferry ride from Victoria Point in Redland City. The island is only 5 square kilometres in size so there is no need to take a car – just pack a picnic and go for a walk. If you are looking for something a little more active, try your hand at paddleboarding, tandem bike-riding, kayaking or jump on an old-fashioned aqua-bike and cruise around the calm waters of Moreton Bay.
Coochiemudlo’s peaceful atmosphere and stunning views have inspired many artists and a range of arts and crafts are on offer at the regular Coochie Craft Markets. The island has a range of accommodation including resorts, cottages and holiday homes.
The passenger ferry service runs every half hour.
