One of Strathalbyn’s prestigious heritage listed homes, this freestone villa is reminder of an enchanting era in South Australian history. Located in the heart of the Strathalbyn Township, Hamilton House is a stones’ throw from the picturesque parklands and swimming pool.
Visitors can wander their award winning cottage garden, relax with a good book or take a five minute walk to the Soldier’s Memorial Gardens and stroll the delightful Children’s Bridge or visit the 50 metre swimming pool or bowling club.
Walking south along Commercial Road will take you to the local shopping precinct of Dawson Street. Walk east through the park and discover High Street with its restaurants, coffee, craft, antique and home wares shops.
They offer two bedrooms with Queen size beds and en-suites at the front of the 115 year old home. A delicious Continental breakfast is left in each room for guests to enjoy at their leisure. There is a private guest entrance, a common lounge/dining area, a lovely garden to explore at the rear of the home and off street parking is provided.

The Lady Jane Room is situated at the front of the house and decorated with heritage style furnishings. This room is the larger of the two and it’s adjoining cottage style en-suite has a separate shower and bath.
Guests may be required to share the main lounge/dining room and relaxing outdoor garden areas with Dawson Room guests.
The slightly smaller Dawson Room continues the heritage theme of the rest of the house. It is spacious, has it’s own adjoining en-suite and a courtyard view of the surrounding cottage garden.
Guests may be required to share the adjoining lounge/dining room with guests in the Lady Jane Room.
