Built between 1846 and 1847 by the SA Mining Association and designed by G.S Kingston, this was one of the ‘Thames Street Cottages’.
Copper Mine Cottage is one of the first buildings to be built in Burra, and is a fine example of one of the the earliest residential buildings that still remains in South Australia.
Relax and enjoy this charming, comfortable 2 bedroom, self-catering cottage, with its mod cons, curios and old wares that is a stones throw from the town centre, shops and pubs.
Private garden setting with covered barbecue area, cottage gardens and shady seating areas. Off street side access parking for one car/caravan/camper.

Burra itself is an historic mining town with National Heritage status and attracts tourists from all over the world. Along with Moonta, Burra is currently in review for their bid to attain “World Heritage status” as part of the Cornish mining heritage worldwide.
Burra has just won two awards from the 2024 Hello SA Top Tourism Town Peoples Choice.
