Bordertown is known as the cultural centre of the Tatiara. Art lovers will enjoy the Walkway Gallery, which hosts national and state touring exhibitions, and culture buffs can learn more about one of Australia’s most iconic prime ministers who was born in Bordertown, Bob Hawke, at the Bob Hawke Gallery.
The Bordertown Recreation Lake is just around the corner and has walking trails that take you past three public artwork and you can also canoe here or fish for yabbies, redfin, and perch.
Poocher Swamp, on Cannawigara Road (13 kilometres west of Bordertown) is a spectacular wetland full of wildlife, birds, and mature river red gums. Uncover the mystery of the region’s runaway holes, where water flows through a hidden, underground network of limestone cavities to provide Bordertown with fresh water.
