Enjoy a unique and fascinating journey of discovery of Yalumba’s Cooperage; the only on-site winery Cooperage in Australia and one of five in the world.
Our Cooperage experience begins with a short introduction of the winery and our family owners the Hill-Smiths.
Enjoy a rare insight into the craft of wine barrel making, a tradition that has been happening at Yalumba for over 100 years.
Depending on the time of year you may see firsthand the Coopers hard at work preparing or maintaining wine barrels for Yalumba’s fine wines*.
Return to our Wine Room for a tasting with our Ambassador of five wines from the portfolio, featuring varieties iconic to both Yalumba and Barossa.
Children will instead receive a Yalumba Colouring Pack and Trevallie Orchard treat.

Yalumba The Signature tour is a journey into the history, symbolism and provenance of one of Australia’s most iconic wines.
This in-depth experience begins at the historic Yalumba Wine Room our Wine Ambassador hosting you will provide an introduction to the story of Yalumba The Signature Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz and an explanation of the sentiment it holds for the people of Yalumba.
Guests are escorted to the Signature Vineyard at Lights Pass, home to the Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown for The Signature. Enjoy spectacular views over the Barossa Valley while experiencing a tasting amongst the vines.
Upon returning to Yalumba, your experience continues with a private tasting of a yet to be released, current release & a Museum Release of The Signature before a tour through the Hill-Smith family’s private museum cellar.
Round off a captivating day with a 2-course lunch at award winning Barossa restaurant Vintner’s. Lunch will also include a current vintage of Yalumba The Signature.

At Yalumba we have over 17 years of winemaking and as the oldest family run winery in Australia, they would like nothing more than sharing their rich history and wine knowledge with you.
Be lead on a private tour of their grounds, historic buildings and unique Yalumba Cooperage. Join one of their Yalumba Wine Ambassadors in a tasting of Yalumba’s finest wines.
This private tour concludes with a Cooper’s Platter of local artisanal produce to enjoy under their Wine Room Verandah (weather permitting) or can be enjoyed in the cooler months by their Wine Room fire.5

They are extremely proud of their Yalumba grounds and look forward to sharing them with you through their Yalumba Estate Picnic. Join a Wine Ambassador for a private Best of Barossa tasting and learn about their Distinguished Sites wines. After your tasting choose one of these wines to have as your wine with lunch (valued up to AUD50). You will then receive a precinct map and guidance from staff as to where you will be able to enjoy your local produce picnic. There are a number of locations to choose from, grab a picnic rug, bean bag and even some lawn games if you choose*.
