Gorgeous vineyards, rolling plains to famous wineries and farms, enjoy serene sights and scenery from the air as you leave our base in the Hoffnungsthal Valley and cruise past the charming township of Lyndoch. Here our journey veers right to fly along the western ridge of the Barossa Valley where you will see the hauntedly beautiful vast plains that make up the mid-north area whilst viewing contouring vineyards, rolling hills and the palm tree studded roads that lead to Historic Seppeltsfield Winery. As you continue your air adventure towards Nuriootpa, your pilot will point out Maggie Beer’s farm, before flying down the valley floor over Tanunda where you can see the stunning old buildings of Tanunda and many beautiful old churches. There’s even more to see further south where you will enjoy a spectacular view over Jacob’s Winery, which is home to some of the largest wine tanks in Australia, with each tank holding up to 1.4 million litres of wine. From there your flight takes you to the southern end of the Barossa, past the town of Lyndoch, over the Barossa Goldfields and the Whispering Wall returning finally to our base in the tranquil Hoffnungsthal Valley.

Lush, serene views and vast plains await you from the moment you lift off from the heli-pad in the heart of the Hoffnungsthal Valley. From there get ready to kick back and enjoy some of the best sights we have to offer on this fantastic 30-minute flight. First, we will fly you past the charming township of Lyndoch before tracking along the western ridge of the Barossa Valley to Historic Seppeltsfield. Here you will see stunning vineyards contouring the rolling hills, palm tree studded roads and the Seppelt Family mausoleum, which is certainly a sight to behold. From there you will fly over Maggie Beer’s farm and the famous Penfold’s Winery before veering along the eastern side of Nuriootpa, around the Wolf Blass winery, and then marveling at the view over the large limestone quarry near the town of Angaston. The Kies family, who settled in Lyndoch in the 1860s, have been growing grapes ever since. Enjoy their hospitality with a tour of their state-of-the-art winemaking facility and barrel hall. Learn about their sustainable and minimal intervention practices.
A Kies Family Wines team member will guide you through the old Shiraz vines, explaining their unique winemaking process. Your experience includes a tasting of two wines, paired with your first lunch course, the Barossa Valley Produce Platter.
Relax at the Kies Family Wines Café for your second course, enjoying 180° views of the Barossa Ranges. After lunch, visit the award-winning Kies Family Wines cellar door for an unforgettable tasting.

Spoil the wine-lover within you with our stunning scenic and adrenaline lifting helicopter ride and winery tour. Flying you past the quaint southern Barossa village of Lyndoch, tracking along the western ridge of the Barossa Valley before descending into Pindarie Wines.
You will be greeted by your winery host upon your arrival who will guide you through a tasting and the fascinating history behind Pindarie.
Once you’ve finished your tasting, choose your favourite wine to enjoy with one of their famous “Pindarie Pie” dishes.
After lunch re-board the helicopter and our pilot will fly you past towards Historic Seppeltsfield Winery, so you can take in the breathtaking views of vast vineyards and palm tree studded roads. Then as you continue towards Nuriootpa, your pilot will point out Maggie Beer’s farm. You can also see the stunning old buildings of Chateau Tanunda and numerous historic churches as you fly across the valley floor. As we fly further south, get ready to enjoy a view over Jacob’s Creek Winery. From there we take you back to the southern end of the Barossa, gliding over the Barossa Goldfields and the Whispering Wall before descending back into the Hoffnungsthal Valley.

If you love amazing food and entertainment, experience our flight from Hoffnungsthal Valley to the Wheatsheaf Pub. Leaving from our heli-pad, we will fly north over Rowland Flat, with plenty of time to admire the view. Once we’re over the valley floor, we head northwest over Tanunda; Nuriootpa then direct to Allendale. Landing right next door to the Wheatsheaf Hotel. Here you will be looked after by Mark and Chelsea, these guys know how to entertain, and they have awesome food!
You might even meet local legendary horseman; Tom Willoughby will roll in for a yarn (he’s full of tall stories!) He might even arrive on one of his beautiful movie star horses, really, they have acted in movies with Simon Baker and Sam Neil!! They all love a good scratch, selfie and will wait patiently while Tom has a beer with you!
After lunch we take the return flight over Historic Kapunda. Kapunda’s claim to fame is that the town is home to Australia’s most haunted hotel, The North Kapunda Hotel. Just to the south of the town is one of Australia’s “Big Things” – Map the Miner, heading home to the Hoffnungsthal Valley past Greenock.

Did you know we can fly you across Australia’s only Dark Sky Reserve?
The River Murray International Dark Sky Reserve is one of only 200 accredited Dark Sky places in the world, and while we don’t fly at night, the daytime view from the air offers a breathtaking perspective.
Departing from Lyndoch, we fly over the northern Barossa, showcasing historic dry stone walls, and then across vast plains to the Murray River. The journey continues to the Swan Reach Hotel, where you can see remnants of the original 1865 homestead. Enjoy lunch and quench your thirst before continuing on along the river.
Explore Big Bend’s towering cliffs, rich with ocean fossils, and follow the Murray to the Marne River. See Shell Hill’s ancient oyster shell deposits and the historic reservoirs that supply over 85,000 customers. Back to the southern Barossa over the Warren, South Para and Barossa Reservoirs, featuring the magnificent Whispering Wall.
The flight ends in the Hoffnungsthal Valley, once settled by Germans in 1847 but later abandoned due to flooding. This land, now part of the Kies Family estate, has been home for six generations.
