Fort Glanville Conservation Park

Galleries, Museums and Collections

The Fort Glanville Conservation Park represents a significant period in South Australia’s European colonial history. The fort remains largely unaltered since it was built in 1880 to boost Australia’s defence strategy. Visitors can view the historical artefact collection in the Visitor’s Centre and experience full historical re-enactments by members of the Fort Glanville Historical Association Inc., including military drills and cannon firing.

The Fort Glanville Historical Association Inc. offer Open Days (including historical re-enactment) on the 3rd Sunday of the month, between September and May, 1 – 4pm.

Tours at the Fort and access to the museum are available year-round on Tuesday mornings, 9-11am. Bookings are essential for groups of 10 or more ([email protected] or 0403 275 160). Group tours may also be booked outside of these times subject to availability.
