Sevenhill Cellars Digital Walking Trail

Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

Sevenhill Cellars Digital Walking Trail: A historic walking journey through vineyards and spiritual heritage.

Take a step back in history on our walking trail, taking in Sevenhill’s significant historical, cultural and spiritual sites, including the Underground Cellar, the oldest vines in the Clare Valley, the St Ignatius of Loyola Shrine, and the St Aloysius Church with its crypt. Sevenhill Cellars is an important part of the historical tapestry of Australia, hosting unique natural and built offerings. The first winery in the Clare Valley (established 1851), Sevenhill is also an integral part in the foundation of Catholicism North of Adelaide, a pioneer in building relations with the First Nations (Ngadjuri) people, and a provider of many educational institutions throughout South Australia. Watch as Father Brendan, Jesuit Superior take you through the 17 sites on an engaging experience that celebrates, preserves, and promotes Sevenhill’s unique heritage.
