Rossiter’s Point Pumping Station, Moonta Bay

Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

The Rossiter’s Point Pumping Station was erected in 1901 and was used to pump the sea water to Ryans’ Engine house at Moonta Mines, which was more than three kilometres away, for use in the cementation process when treating the tailings dumps for the copper mining. Low tide is the best time to explore and to see what remains.
